/Art Galleries/David McGlynn![]() Irish sculptor, David McGlynn, was born in Dublin in 1969. He graduated from NCAD in 1993 with a BA in Fine Art Sculpture. He has travelled widely and lived abroad in Scandinavia and Asia. On these journeys he encountered many diverse cultures and environments all of which deepened his appreciated of life. “My work comes from a desire to share my experiences and celebrate life. I am reminded again and again just how precious each moment is and often when my eyes truly open, hidden behind a veil of conditioning, there is an underlying beauty to life waiting to be enjoyed.” He has exhibited and sold his work in Dublin, Helsinki, China and Hanoi Vietnam, In 2001 David was selected from Ireland for the Changchun International Sculpture Symposium in China. Diverse in both style and medium, David McGlynn is continually exploring new ideas and possibilities to express life through form and space, often challenging conventions with his use of humour. This exhibition presents a new body of work captured beautifully in bronze. The inspiration for these pieces is varied yet connected by the coastal environment where he lives. The work attempts to explore both an observational and intuitive response to people, places and music. There is a freshness and spontaneity about his work that will captivate and intrigue.
