Since Gemma's first successful solo exhibition of paintings and sculptures at the invitation of the Laois Arts Officer in 1990,her professional career has gone from strength to strength.Winning the Royal Hibernian Academy's award for a work of distinction by an artist of promise in 1991,Gemma has gone on to exhibit regularly at the RHA annual summer exhibition,Eigse and Oireachtas open submission exhibitions.

Gemma was invited to have her first solo exhibition in Dublin in 1999 followed by successive exhibitions in 2000,2002 and 2004.The Dunamaise Arts Centre,Portlaoise have held further solo shows in 2001,2003,2005 and 2008.She is a professional member of the Visual Artists Association of Ireland. She regularly exhibits in Cork,Wexford,Dublin and Galway.Her work is held in public and private collections in Ireland and abroad.
