Born in Dublin, Patrick Cahill would originally have been best known for his very personal interpretations of the streets and buildings of his native city, and most particularly his unique observations of the Horse Fair in Dublins Smithfield.

Nowadays his subjects are many and varied, including also landscape, seascape, the nude and still life. Patrick paints in oil and watercolour, and his method is the ‘alla prima’ style, used by many of the Old Masters, which demands fast but accurate draughtsmanship.

Patrick exhibits regularly in one-man shows and public exhibitions, including the Wexford Opera Festival, and his work is included in public and private collections both in this country and abroad.
