Phelan Segur 2012

Tasted as a barrel sample at en primeur. The Phelan Segur was cropped between 8 and 14 October and an equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The 2012 has a ripe, sweet well-defined bouquet with nicely integrated oak, although it does not quite has the vigour of Calon Segur. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, dry tannins. There is a balsamic note towards the finish that lends freshness and edginess although it does fade a little on the finish. Tasted April 2013. ? eRobertParker.com, May 2013
